Common questions

Do I need to change how I get paid?

No. Keep using Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, or whatever you already use. Payable.at puts them all on one page so clients can pick. If you want to accept credit cards too, you can connect Stripe, but you do not have to.

What is a payment request?

It is a page you send to a specific client with an amount owed. They get a notification and automatic reminders follow up until they pay. You do not have to do anything after you send it. This is the feature most people upgrade to Pro for.

How does Payable.at know when someone pays?

For Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, cash, or check, you mark the request as paid once the money arrives. Your client can also tap "I've already paid" on the request page, which flags it for you. Card payments through Stripe get tracked automatically. Either way, Payable.at gives you one place to see what is paid, what is pending, and when the next reminder goes out.

How is this different from QuickBooks or FreshBooks?

Those are full accounting systems. They do invoicing, expenses, taxes, payroll, reporting. A lot of things most solo operators do not need. Reminders are one feature buried inside a much bigger product. Payable.at does one thing only: gets you paid without you having to chase. If you need full accounting software, use QuickBooks. What if I only have Venmo?
